Most store owners find out about performance problems from customers or from a Google Analytics report showing a sales drop. By that point the store is losing money every day. There are specific signals that appear earlier – and that are worth knowing.
Signals worth taking seriously
Page load time above 3 seconds is the threshold at which a significant share of mobile users abandon a purchase. Google PageSpeed below 50 on mobile is not just a UX problem – it directly affects search ranking positions. A conversion drop of more than 10% in a quarter without a clear change in offer or traffic is a signal that needs explaining, not ignoring.
A store that crashes under heavier traffic – during promotions, on Black Friday, after sending a newsletter – has an infrastructure or code problem that at the next peak could cost more than an audit. Customers who do not complete purchases at the cart or payment stage do not always report it – they simply do not come back.
What happens during a performance audit
A Magento 2 store performance audit is not just checking whether the server is fast. It covers analysis of SQL query counts per page, cache configuration (Varnish, Redis), search index state, generated HTML page size, time to first byte (TTFB), mobile performance and the state of external integrations that may be blocking page load.
A typical audit takes 2-5 working days and ends with a report listing specific problems ranked by performance impact. Each item has an estimated fix time. The store owner receives a prioritised list of things to fix – not generic recommendations.
When an audit is especially urgent
- Before the sales season (Q4, Black Friday, Christmas)
- After migrating to a new server or updating Magento
- When conversion drops despite stable traffic
- When the store has more than 10,000 products and has not been optimised in a year
- When Google Search Console reports Core Web Vitals issues
If any of the signals described sound familiar, it is worth analysing before the problem grows. I offer a free initial consultation – write to biuro@tews.pl or visit tews.pl.
