The question “how much does Magento 2 cost?” comes up regularly and regularly has no simple answer. The range of quotes on the Polish market is 30,000 – 500,000 PLN net. The spread does not reflect agency arbitrariness but fundamental differences in project scope. Below I explain what actually drives the price.
What makes up the implementation cost
The Magento Open Source licence is free. Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Enterprise) costs tens of thousands of dollars per year – for most Polish shops it is not needed. Implementation costs are mainly labour hours: UX design, development work, integrations, testing, training and deployment.
A simple B2C store with an off-the-shelf theme, no ERP integration, up to a few thousand products: 30,000 – 70,000 PLN. A mid-size store with a custom design, integration with one external system (ERP or courier services) and a custom checkout: 80,000 – 180,000 PLN. A large B2B or multi-store project with several integrations, data migration and a custom pricing solution: 200,000 PLN and above.
What most often inflates costs
Undefined project scope at the start – every change during the project costs several times more than if it had been planned from the beginning. Integrations with systems that lack a good API (old ERPs, warehouse systems written to order 15 years ago) can consume 30-50% of the entire budget. Unrealistic deadlines force hiring a larger team or overtime hours.
What to look for in a quote
A quote should contain a detailed scope (what is included, what is out of scope), a breakdown into phases with milestones, terms for scope changes during the project, and what happens after launch – who is responsible for maintenance and potential bugs. A quote without a specification is guesswork for both parties.
If any of the signals described sound familiar, it is worth analysing before the problem grows. I offer a free initial consultation – write to biuro@tews.pl or visit tews.pl.
